Nina

NINA DIVINE: An incredible Oriental Dancer who captivates the audience with creative , mysterious, and dynamic energy and dancing. Performer & teacher of Egyptian style belly dance for 7 years. Nina is one of the directors , the main choreographer and co-producer for The Garden Nile Belly Dance Troupe. Nina teaches level 1 and 2 basic beginner classes and an advanced choreography class.

'After taking my first belly dancing class, I was hooked! I knew this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life! There's a satisfaction that comes for me when I dance, and when I see others dance as well. I feel free from any limitations, expressing how I feel through dance, connected to the Earth, and this is when I feel like a Beautiful Goddess!'

Dixie

Dixie became interested in belly dance after taking course in Egyptology in the 1980's. She subsequently visited Egypt and returned to California with a passion for the ancient art form. She sought out an instructor and started dancing at conventions in Southern California. Dixie took an extensive break from belly dance. She moved to Kauai in 1992 and started dancing with Troupe Jawaher in 1997. Dixie founded the Garden Nile Belly Dance Troupe in 2001 and is one of the Directors of the Troupe.

'For me, belly dancing is an ongoing process of self-discovery, an empowering of who I am spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.'

Yasmine

Yasmine has been belly dancing since 2002 and specializes in cane dance. Yasmine is one of the Directors of the Garden Nile Belly Dance Troupe. "After seeing belly dance on the mainland many years ago, I have been inspired by the beauty of the dance. I also love the middle eastern music which makes belly dance so unique from other styles of dance. I really enjoy dancing with the Garden Nile Belly Dance Troupe."

Samantha

Samantha began dancing in Vail, Colorado under Linda Frazer and has been dancing on & off for 10 years. Samantha loves dancing to shimmy out stress and enjoys the challenge of learning new things as well as the companionship of the girls in the troupe.

Nelleke

Nelleke has been belly dancing since 2003 and joined The Garden Nile Belly Dance Troupe in 2004. Nelleke is currently teaching intermediate classes and is a R.A.I.S certified instructor. Nelleke is from the Netherlands, and has performed internationally in countries such as Holland and Spain.

'I'm very passionate about dancing. And that dancing is an ongoing process you never stop learning. I LOVE IT!!!'

Cheryl

Cheryl is a second generation belly dancer. She has a love for spanish influenced music. Her specialties include sword, veil, and floorwork. " Cheryl has a smile that lights up the room! Her dancing is flowing and jo yful!! I love to watch her dance!!"
